There seems to be a theme in heritage/heirloom - both curious terms and I wonder how they got that name.<br />Japan has loads of unusual versions of common veggies but I'm pretty sure the aubergines I saw there were all purple/black (even if odd shapes and sizes). Ha - while wedding shopping with a friend we came across "egg" coloured bridesmaid dresses, which were deep purple - needless to say they were US imports!Lady Ellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17050899813793376037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5693648106391390274.post-37610777143543077562016-09-23T13:21:31.029+01:002016-09-23T13:21:31.029+01:00Me again! I did see a lot of different colour vegetables and tomatoes in farmers markets in the States but then I don't visit them very often in this country! The tomatoes seem to be heirloom over there and heritage over here and I just call them beef tomatoes!!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06013731736768963395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5693648106391390274.post-37422607248915572762016-09-22T02:46:59.975+01:002016-09-22T02:46:59.975+01:00Great collection - love the raindrops on the cabba...Great collection - love the raindrops on the cabbage.JoAnn ( Scene Through My Eyes)https://www.blogger.com/profile/12621061028973446378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5693648106391390274.post-21682360934803762382016-09-21T23:15:01.611+01:002016-09-21T23:15:01.611+01:00Never knew aubergines grew like that! Heirloom tomatoes are very popular so there is wide variety of colours. I am not a fan of eggplant, so I have seen the colours & varieties but not tried although I did once buy a purple/white striped one for a Thanksgiving table display.Patio Postcardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04491809927236242223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5693648106391390274.post-10037433107801122612016-09-21T12:10:34.942+01:002016-09-21T12:10:34.942+01:00My husband's not a fan of eggplant, but I'...My husband's not a fan of eggplant, but I've prepared the white variety a couple of times.
