In the Conservatory
An Amaryllis that I was given for Christmas has finally decided to flower and is a beautiful sight in the conservatory.
What I did not expect to find in the Conservatory this evening was this little chap.
He was on his way up to join the other pet lambs. He has up till now been out in the field with his mum but having a couple of bottles a day.
It was decided today to separate him from his mum and bring him into the shed for a bit of extra feed with a little visit to our house on the way!

Animal Antics
I thought this morning that if I popped a few crumbs out on the kitchen window sill I might attract a few birds. Within minutes I had attracted a lesser black and white ..........collie dog!

Another bluebell visit
We took the opportunity yesterday to take mother in law into a bit of the bluebell woods while we were up there seeing the cows.

Out they go.
It was decided to let the calves out into the field today. The calves have been born over the winter so this was their first time out on grass. This turned out to be quite a family event as everyone wanted to see their excitement. My mother-in-law always likes to see the cows go out on grass so she had been brought down by car.

Checking out the walk
Three of us set out in blazing sunshine to try out the 6 mile walk for the next Walk and Talk. The weather was glorious and the farmers on route were hard at work making silage. Not the most modern tractor but it was doing the job.
We passed some interesting features including locks from a long disused canal.
I bored the other two silly with tales of walking these valleys as a teenager and bathing in this river in the hot summers of the late 70s. I have to confess that it looked far to fast running today for such activities.
The walk however was not all plain sailing. We did have a small dispute on which way the path went
There was the little problem of getting across a bog....
Which resulted in rather muddy shoes
