War Veteran

On our walk this evening we walked from Midford to Monkton Combe and back. The churchyard of the Monkton Combe church is a quiet peaceful place.

 While walking through we saw the grave of 1st World War Veteran Harry Patch.

He lived to the grand age of 111. He obviously came from long living genes with a father who lived to 82 and a mother who lived into her nineties!
