I thought I would start with a picture of the fabulous view from one of our fields where the ewes and new lambs are enjoying the grass. I thought I would give you all a chance to soak up a bit of our glorious countryside during these grim times.
Lambing is in full swing. We have had a busy week but are now over half way through. The weather has been kind to us so the mums are outside pretty quickly. They obviously still need to be checked and sometimes need a little attention. This lamb needed an injection and has actually ended up back in the shed now where it can be watched more closely.
There is always time for a little smile at the interesting positions taken for a bit of a snooze.
This ewe has recently delivered but by tomorrow will be moved into a bigger pen ready to go outside.
We are missing all our normal visitors to the lambing shed. Meanwhile Poppy waits patiently for me to finish. I have been asked if she has a license. She is having trouble with the theory test!
Yes that top pic truly is like a breath of fresh air! And how cute is that lamb at the wheel?!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who lives in the country and can do dozens of rural walks from her front door - I so envy her right now, limited as I am to urban strolls. I might try the park tomorrow - but it's a long walk just to get there so...!
Nature is so good, love the views, it must take your breathe away when walking, I do miss long walks. Poppy looks ready for a walk rather than a drive, she's not breaking any 'stay at home' rules.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing more of normal life. Poppy looks rather pleased to be sitting in the driver's sit. That little lamb does look quite comfortable on Mother's back.
