I was honoured yesterday to see the son of one of my friends get married. It made for a very special day where I not only enjoyed a wedding but had the chance to meet up with my college friends from 40 years back. We meet every year but this was definitely one of the best.
The young couple both live in Egypt. They both have British mothers and Egyptian fathers. One is Moslem and one Christian so this was indeed a multi faith day that was embraced by the vicar in a most touching way.
Add to this a Scottish family heritage and you have a day to remember.
The bride of course looked beautiful and soon overcame her initial nerves.
The reception was held at a stunning location. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief that the torrential rain of the previous day had gone just leaving a little dampness underfoot.
It was equally atmospheric when the sun went down.
Here we all are looking just as good as we did as freshers forty years ago.
We had no trouble dancing the night away.
Although there were a few aches at breakfast this morning!
Lovely & lots like a very fun day.
