It's not uncommon to find that a year after a hedge or scrub is cleared a large number of wild foxgloves will appear. The seeds must lay dormant waiting for the right conditions. This has happened in an area of woodland in one of our fields that was cleared and planted with saplings. It has been a glorious sight and the foxgloves speak for themselves.
Lovely. I had one or two appear in my garden last year, I let them go to seed, but no sign of any this year. GM calls them weeds, but I love them. Joy x x
ReplyDeletePink perfection and lucky you to have them growing so freely.
