Memorandum Monday: Newcomers

Good Morning on this Monday morning and I am giving a wave to Sian and all the other Monday morning blog readers. So what's new today? We have some newcomers who have arrived this weekend. Older daughter has bought some more calves from a local dairy farmer. They are mainly Aberdeen Angus Cross and one Belgium Blue. They too have to be taught a new skill. They need to learn to drink their milk from a bucket so I went up to help her feed them.

They are taught by getting them to suck your fingers and then dipping your fingers under the milk so they begin to slurp! Quite a messy business. She also uses a large teat which she immerses in the milk. This calf (the Belgium Blue) was rapidly named Jaws as he was keen to chew everything including my arm.

In fact they are pretty keen to chew anything!

I have a feeling however that Jaws will be my favourite!
