The Frustrations of Farming

On Tuesday a Combine Harvester returned to cut our wheat and Spring barley.

This time it was a smaller Combine to fit along some narrow lanes to get to the field where the Spring Barley is. All went well to start with and we went down with Monty to see how they were progressing.

Note Monty is wearing his present that younger daughter brought him back from Cornwall! Country dog turned nautical!

The cutting of the wheat was progressing fairly well.

Unfortunately the combine has now broken down and needs some serious repairs. It is now a question of phoning round to try and fine another one that is free.

  1. Great photos, lovely colours. Hope it stays dry until cutting can resume.

  3. Weather, equipment - all the things you need but are beyond "control". Hoping that the equipment was quickly fixed & harvest continued on. Handsome Monty all decked out - he is a lucky boy.
