We have over the weekend visited two National Trust properties. Both had made use of fallen and cut down trees to provide a feature for children in some way. I thought that these would qualify for two prompts for the Summertime Scavenger Photography Hunt, No. 8 A Pile of and No. 17 Repurposed.
The first was at Dyffryn Gardens in South Wales
There were the most amazing carvings on some of the logs.
Some of the logs were also laid out to provide a small adventure playground area.
As you can see it is not only of interest to children.
This leaf and frog were particularly eye catching.
Our second visit was to Dunster Castle where in the grounds there is what is described as a "rustic play area".
You can see that this one too attracted the older generation!
That first play area looks like a lot of fun! I'd definitely want to spend time there!
ReplyDeleteI would have LOVED either of those play areas as a child. (Even now!) -Jenn
ReplyDeleteBrilliant - the rustic play area is just my type of play area.
