A Geologist from Bristol University visits the farm occasionally to collect from
the quarry some of the local stone which contains a lot of quartz for the students to study. He was telling us yesterday that some of the stone is thought to have been used at the stone circle at Stanton Drew about 7 miles away. This photo is from the internet.
This man is known affectionally by the family as the Stone Man. It was therefore quite funny yesterday to find that we have our own Stone Man that has appeared in the quarry.
He seems quite at home amongst the flowers!
I guess he is somebody's idea of a joke.
