At this time of year we have a lot of "fallers" form the apple tree. These apples are often blemished and bruised.
Thet will not keep very well and so we have a lot of different apple dishes. Today we had friends around for lunch so I prepared an apple dessert.
I made one of my favourites called Apple Amber.
This is an apple and lemon base with a meringue topping. The sharpness of the lemon is counteracted by the sweet top. It seemed to go down well with a drop of cream!
