What's Missing?

You will probably look at this photo and take it to be just a picture of the farm.

However for us there is something definitely missing. Our hens should be at liberty to roam over these fields every day. Unfortunately since the outbreak in Britain of Avian flu we have been obliged to keep them in. This is of course to prevent the spread of the disease.
Today marks a change in that many flocks of poultry will now be allowed out but because we are in an "At Risk" area our hens will have to remain in. The hens are quite comfortable and have plenty of room and light but we will still be glad when they can come out and will again look like this.

  1. Hoping the all clear to all hens is quickly achieved. The field is enhanced with the feathery girls in it. Have they tracked the source of the outbreak?

  2. I hadn't heard there was an outbreak - hope they get the go-ahead to roam outside before long (although if I were them I'd be staying indoors given the option!)

  3. I saw this on the news the other night. How frustrating!
