It is also very scenic even as it begins to melt.
It's not always quite so great for wildlife and particularly the birds. We have made sure the bird feeders are well stocked. Brother in Law has been putting out surplus apples as well. This has attracted a huge number of fieldfares at the bottom of the main garden.
They have been feeding there almost continually.

Fieldfare fest! They are lovely, what a great treat for them in the snow.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting looking bird, we don't get Fieldfare birds & how lovely your BiL puts out the apples for them. An obvious treat. I feel bad for our Robins when they return because there is always a major snow fall after their arrival & the ground freezes up so no possibility of pulling up a fat worm or insects. Our local seed source has started to carry mealy worms for this very reason.
