Modern technology has however given us the chance to see a little of what she and her friends have been up to.
University was cancelled because of the weather on Thursday and Friday so they had a chance to be out and about. Everywhere is transformed by the snow.
It looks like they were all wrapped up and prepared for the cold.
They are all due to start their first practical placement on Monday. Some of them including student daughter have to travel some distance for this. The weather hasn't been on their side for this especially those that have to drive.
It seems snow drifts happen in towns too! Fortunately Student daughter's car is on the other side of the road!
The roads that she has to use to get to where she is staying for her placement were closed yesterday due to snow so she will have to wait until today to see if she can travel.
