Six Word Story

On a Friday it is time to join Miriam in her one photo and six words. Today the word is wide. We live in close proximity to Bristol Airport. We are lucky that we do not live under the flight path but we do hear the planes coming and going. Well we kind of hear them but most of the time we are switched off to the noise. The noise is worse if they are taking off out are way although this is more unusual. However yesterday while I was out gardening there was a constant flow which makes you wonder where they are all going and of the people setting off on their holiday.

  1. Good ole Ryanair! I often think, when I see a plane, what the people aboard are feeling. Sad to have left somewhere/someone? Happy to be going somewhere? Meeting someone? Off on holidays? Emigrating or going to work abroad? Scared or excited? I never used to think any of these things but over recent years I do ponder. (All that from your nice clean pic. I must be getting old!)

  2. A good match of photo & words. The blue sky, the blue of the plane. I have a family member that works at Toronto Pearson Airport & lives under the main flight path - she says she does not hear them any more.

    1. I thought our planes were noisy until we were at Windsor with jumbos and bigger (A380s) leaving every minute. Hope the Queen has good glazing on Windsor castle!

  6. The first house I lived in here was right on the flight path, and close enough to the airport that the planes cast a shadow over the whole house! Glad it was just a rental. Great shot!

  7. We are a couple of miles from Dulles but do hear the planes at certain times of day and in some weather conditions. And when I see them I often imagine the plane arriving in some far off place..
