An attempt at bird watching

The swallows are now on their second sitting of chicks. I blogged one nest of first chicks at the beginning of June. That same nest now has 5 chicks just beginning to fly. This shows them about 10 days ago.

Then this was this morning after a couple of them had flown out onto the beam and back.

I am not sure if the fifth one is there. We also have young Little Owls feeding in one of our fields. I have been out at dusk a couple of times but have been unsuccessful in viewing them other than at a distance. All I have seen is a horse posing as a zebra. Stripes are supposed to keep the flies away.

So I photographed the moon instead.

My sister in law has been more successful and managed this photograph.
