The borders were full of flowers with a predominance of purple and pink.
We did have to retreat under the trees to shelter from one very heavy storm.
It soon stopped for us to be able to walk along to the church.
Then around the ponds which are all that is left of the intricate water cascades that were present in the early 1700s.
There are lots of features that would be easy to miss such as the 300 year old statue of Mercury on the roof
and the unusual topiary at the front of the house.
