It was only just over a mile into the small town of Axbridge. This pleasant small town has a lot of fascinating buildings including this previous butchers shop.
We passed through the central square which has several medieval buildings.
It seemed impossible to pass the playground without a little distraction although I'm sure that we exceeded the age limit.
One of the stiles also proved to be a bit of an obstacle course.
We had a breezy leg stretch around Cheddar Reservoir giving a possible chance for a windy day picture for the winter photography scavenger hunt.
The ducks were certainly finding it windy.
Many people were making the most of the gusts of wind for their sailing boats.
The rain had started by the time we were on our return journey and we were glad of some hot soup by the time we got home.
looks a fabulous walk and who can resist a playpark empty of kids. I'd been thinking that sailing boats was a possible for a photo of a windy day
ReplyDeleteIt's a breath of fresh air coming here!
ReplyDeleteI think I might have seen that butcher shop on a property programme once. Or one like it.
That is a great place to walk, you were lucky to avoid the rain most of the time.
ReplyDeleteWonderful walk about today - thanks for taking us along. I like a good swing every once & a while. Stiles, I like to watch "the city folks" tackling one, many can't figure out what its intended use is ...
ReplyDeleteThat looked like a wonderful walk - I would have fallen into that puddle (don't forget puddle is on the hunt list). Love the 'windy' photos, too. The last time I went on a kid's playground I got motion sick and had to sit down!
