Around and About Trerice

Yesterday I posted some pictures of the wisteria at Trerice. Today I thought I would show a little more of the gardens of this lovely Elizabethan Manor.

The house and grounds are owned and maintained by the National Trust.

This border above the house was predominantly Rosemary and Valerian.

The architecture includes a variety of turrets and rounded windows.

This doorway reveals a view straight through the centre of the house and you know how I like a framed picture.

The garden was full of beautiful and unusual flowers. These are but a few.

This next one must be part of the allium family. It has the tiny individual flowers but not the globe shape that characterises a lot of the allium family.

Gorgeous colour tulips which have obviously been quite a sight but are now reaching their end.

Some early roses.

These seed heads are on the bank above the grass maze which you can see behind.

I have some more pictures which are possibilities for the Summer Scavenger Hunt but I will save those for another day.

  2. Beautiful flower snapshots. What is it about ancient stone buildings that is so reassuring - it is one of the lasting impressions I had of England when we visited.
