Walking around Wells

When we walked down into Wells on the Sunday the light was already beginning to go. We approached the Cathedral from a more unusual angle.

This rather quaint sign is from a time passed by.

All was calm around the moat. The Bishop's Palace is totally surrounded by a castellated wall and moat.

The swans at Wells are quite famous. They are trained to ring a bell each evening to request their supper.

The lights in the market place were just beginning to come on.

There is always a Christmas tableau in the garden of the Swan Hotel. This year there is quite a snow scene.

Santa seems to be missing. I guess he is busy filling his sacks.

  1. Such a lovely town. It is great to drive towards Wells and see the cathedral in the distance, dominating the landscape as it has done for many hundreds of years.
