It's been a quiet weekend at home perhaps because Emma was away again enjoying an all weekend party in South Wales. The sunny weather on Saturday saw me out in the garden in the afternoon starting on a much needed tidy up.
In the evening I had a bit of a surprise to find two of the swallow chicks had taken up residence in our utility room. Attracted by the light I guess. It took a bit of gentle persuasion to encourage them to exit!
A low mist hovered when I went out to feed the dogs on Sunday morning and I was amused to see the sunflowers had some new headwear.
Thanks to a busy spider.
Sunday lunch was a rapid affair so that they could get out to get the last of the straw baled. The wet weather had delayed this for much longer than usual. Sunday also brought another birthday tea on the farm for the girls' cousin. The chief cake maker (her sister) had been busy with some more wonderful creations.
I'm intrigued - I'd guess a behind the scenes of something secure - have a great time. Love the cow cake and what busy spiders
ReplyDeleteOoh, sounds very exciting! I'll be looking out to see what it is now. Your photos are always lovely, but you have a couple of extra special beauties here.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week (certainly sounds as if it'll be one to remember)
No camera? Sounds highly military or governmental! The apples look delicious, pie or crumble? I do love cobwebs outside, especially when they are bejewelled with mist and dew (I'm not so keen on the spiders though). Fab cakes (making me hungry) and cheeky birds. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteSunday was lovely with all the cobwebs on the plants, I enjoyed my morning walk with Tara. Your day out sounds exciting. Love the cow cake!
ReplyDeleteLovely sunflower web photos. Smile - oh no wait - passport photos no longer allow smiles.
ReplyDeleteOoh, now that sounds very intriguing. Thanks for your kind words Maggie x
